Zaclon – Soprin Partnership
Zaclon LLC and Soprin, srl, have formed an alliance to better assist the hot-dip galvanizing community. Zaclon, the worldwide leader in galvanizing fluxes, is joining with Soprin to expand the galvanizer’s pretreatment options.

Soprin offers products for both sulfuric and hydrochloric acid processes. For acid degreasing, the Hydronet product offers degreasing and pre-pickle surface conditioning to improve pickling time. Antivapor eliminates acid fume without foam or oil on the acid tank; Ironsave is a very safe and effective acid inhibitor which does not slow the desired pickling reactions. FilmFlux is a flux additive that can decrease zinc pick-up and improve overall quality of galvanizing. Flux Zinc is a product to aid in zinc recovery from skimmings.

Zaclon is proud to offer these products, and now stocks and services them from our Cleveland, Ohio plant. Both Zaclon and Soprin personnel will be offering technical support for these chemicals.

Zaclon Supports AGA Education
Robert Woods, Technical Account Manager for Zaclon, has been working with the American Galvanizers Association for several years on an AGA project to create a series of four Processing Seminars. These 7-hour seminars include: (1) a general session, (2) a session on chemicals in the plant, (3) a session on zinc and the galvanizing kettle, and (4) a final session on material handling. Any participant who attends all of the sessions will obtain a "Master Galvanizer certificate.

Bob has worked with the AGA to develop and teach the seminar session on chemicals in the galvanizing plant, discussing both control and analysis.

Four sessions on "chemicals in the plant" have been scheduled in 2003. Please contact Bob or the AGA for more information.

Zaclon's Potassium Silicate Saves the Day
The longshoreman's strike on the West Coast last fall showed the weakness in a supply chain strategy which is built on offshore chemicals. The Middle East situation may also disrupt supply chains worlwide. Buying American-made materials can save both time and money for many manufacturing operations.

A good example of this is our Zacsil E-200 Potassium Silicate solution. Zacsil E-200 is manufactured in our Cleveland, Ohio plant under the highest exact standards. It meets or exceeds the specifications of electronics manufacturers and the photograghic industry

The ulta-low metals contamination and ultra-high purity made it a drop-in replacement for a major Japanese-owned electroncis manufacturing company. The originally approved Japanese material was sitting on a ship off the West Coast for months last year. The E-200 saved production time and ultimately saved money in raw material and freight costs as well. Our claims about Zacsil E-200 were substantiated by the Japanese quickly approving it for ongoing use in their production.

Improve your supply chain by using Zaclon's chemicals manufactured in Cleveland, Ohio. You will save time, aggravation and money.
